Barrowby Parish Council is immediately recruiting to the following vacancy:

PARISH CLERK

NJC SCALE LC2 SCP 20 – 23, Starting Salary £30,296 pro rata £15.75 per hour

Home based for 18 hours per week with regular travel to the village

This role will be responsible for:

  • Leading on Parish Council administration
  • Writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Arranging meetings, preparing agendas and writing minutes
  • Management of the Burial Ground and Village play areas
  • Maintenance of the Parish Council website
  • Answering queries from Councillors, members of the public and other organisations

The Clerk is also responsible for managing a team consisting of Assistant Clerk, one part time Caretaker and a Litter Picker. Management experience and experience in local government administration would be an advantage although full training and support will be provided. Good oral, written and computer skills are essential. A mobile phone, laptop and printer are provided by the Council.

Flexibility and access to transport are essential as the role involves daytime and evening meetings in Barrowby.
