The Barrowby News team has devised a series of 11 short and longer walks in and around Barrowby, all of which can be downloaded in PDF* here. Each PDF download contains a map and full directions for the walk.
All these walks take in features of interest or offer stunning vistas. We have tried to design walks to cater for all abilities and interests. We hope you find some of your favourite walks here and some new ones to try. We have marked items of interest to keep an eye out for during your walking. And if you want a change try walking in the opposite direction!
In addition, there are 2 Heritage Walks: the first is a leisurely stroll around the historic core of the village, taking in the listed buildings and visible remains of the medieval agricultural heart of the parish. The second walk is longer and includes the environs of the parish, reaching the Grantham Canal. Optional extras to extend the walks are also available. Each of these 2 Heritage Walks is accompanied by extensive historic and interesting information.

The Ramblers are Britain’s walking charity working to ensure that everyone, everywhere, can experience and enjoy the joy of walking. For the last 85 years we have fought to protect and expand the places where we can walk and we empower hundreds of thousands to go walking each year through our group walks programme. If you are interested in joining us go to www.ramblers.org.uk/join or contact Grantham Ramblers on 01664 464065 or at https://www.ramblers.org.uk/grantham – we’d love to have you on board!
