Barrowby Scarecrow Event and BBQ
The Barrowby Scarecrow event was well supported with 28 scarecrows and several garage sales around the village. The village was full of families from many parts of the country visiting relatives which made the whole two days really enjoyable for the volunteers making it happen.
The BBQ on the Sunday afternoon was also very busy from 5 o’clock with the 3 cooks ensuring the Burgers and Hot Dogs from Skinners Butchers of Barrowby went down well. The event is fun and enables the Barrowby News Newsletter to be produced by volunteers and distributed independently for another year. Our thanks go to all our sponsors including Robert Holland Funeral Directors, Contour Specialist Fabrics of Barrowby, Bickford Limited of Grantham, Vertu Honda of Grantham, Duncan and Toplis of Grantham, Spec Savers of Grantham, Noah’s Ark Plumbing and Heating of Barrowby, A1 Plumbing of Barrowby, Specialised Chemicals of Grantham and the Cairn Hotel Group for the three main prizes for the Raffle. The event would not go ahead without the volunteer team that put the date in the calendar months in advance so a huge thank you to them all for making it happen.
